Agata

Profesora

“Yoga has had a huge impact on my life. It has taught me to follow my own rhythm, to listen to my body and my mind and not to listen to others.”

“When teaching, I like to encourage my students to follow their own rhythm, not that of the other people in the room; to listen to their own body and their own breathing. For me, yoga helps to find balance, moderation; it teaches perseverance, not only on the mat, but in our daily lives. “

Agata discovered Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in 2002 at a sports centre at university in England, where she was studying psychology. After completing her studies in England and returning to her native Poland, she began her personal search.

She worked in corporate HR and taught psychology at university, while devoting her spare time to the practice and study of Ashtanga. After the birth of her first child, she quit her corporate job to devote time to her son. Throughout this time she remained faithful to Ashtanga and practised daily. She was fascinated by its fluidity and strength. She attended various workshops with renowned teachers: John Scott, Lino Miele, Kino Mcgregor, ManjuJois, Peter Samson, David Keil, Ronald Steiner and Taric Van Prehn.

After moving to Madrid with her family, she studied Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga at the International Association of Yoga Teachers Sananda Yoga Center. She expanded her knowledge by studying “Expert in Yoga Therapy” accredited by the European Yoga Alliance, and trained as a postgraduate Vinyasa Flow teacher with AIPYS.

Agata sees the practice of yoga as a means of learning about oneself, a space to play and experiment with one’s body and mind. Yoga teaches us to seek balance and restraint in all aspects of our life: balance between time for ourselves and time for our family, balance between rest and practice, restraint in not rushing or forcing postures…

Yoga is a practice based on perseverance (which can be applied to everything we do in life): not giving up at the first obstacle we encounter on the path, but persevering… on the mat and in everyday life… this is how we create our own story. As Aristotle said: “We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”
